QX Continuum™ ddPCR system and QX700™ series

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. is significantly expanding its Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) technology with the debut of four new platforms: the QX Continuum™ ddPCR system and three instruments within the QX700™ series. This strategic move, bolstered by the recent acquisition of digital PCR developer Stilla Technologies, allows Bio-Rad to seamlessly integrate these advanced systems with its established QX200™ and QX600™ platforms. The result is the most extensive digital PCR portfolio on the market, now boasting an impressive library of over 400,000 assays. These new systems are designed to solidify Bio-Rad's leadership in genomics research and applied science by delivering industry-leading absolute quantification, superior precision, and advanced multiplexing capabilities through simplified, end-to-end workflows.

The QX Continuum™ ddPCR system is specifically engineered to meet the demands of translational research applications, where ease of use and reliable performance are paramount. It offers an intuitive, all-in-one setup that simplifies the entire workflow, making it accessible even for those accustomed to traditional quantitative PCR (qPCR) methods. Key features include a familiar qPCR-like workflow for seamless integration into existing lab practices. This system enables four-color multiplexing, allowing researchers to simultaneously quantify up to four different targets from a single sample well. Furthermore, it supports up to eight distinct thermal profiles per plate, offering considerable flexibility in optimizing PCR conditions for diverse assays within the same run. The QX Continuum™ delivers exceptional high precision and sensitivity, crucial for accurate nucleic acid quantification, especially for low-abundance targets, and eliminates the need for standard curves.

Complementing the QX Continuum™, the QX700™ series comprises three new ddPCR instruments meticulously designed to address the needs of high-throughput applications across a wide range of fields. These include academic research, environmental testing, cell and gene therapy, and biopharma quality control workflows. These powerful systems boast impressive capabilities, including seven-color multiplexing, which significantly increases the number of targets that can be simultaneously detected in a single well, providing deeper insights with greater efficiency. Built for speed, the QX700™ series can process over 700 samples daily, making it an ideal solution for high-volume laboratories. Additionally, these instruments feature minimal input volume, a critical advantage when sample availability is limited, and continuous loading capability, which further enhances throughput by allowing users to add samples without interrupting an ongoing run. Paired with intuitive, easy-to-use software, the QX700™ series streamlines data interpretation, collectively boosting efficiency and providing profound insights across a vast array of complex applications.

This strategic rollout strengthens Bio-Rad's position in various critical applications, including oncology, infectious disease research, and genetic analysis, by offering unparalleled workflow simplicity and throughput.
